Set Sail | Mahogany Room, Cape Town, South Africa | 7th September 2013

A small intimate venue that allows you to absorb every particle of the music around you, Mahogany Room in Buitenkant Street was home on Thursday evening to Cape Town band We Set Sail. The famous jazz lounge was one of the final shows of their SA tour for their album ‘something about the moon.’

The band is made up of Marné Gelderbloem (Guitar & Bass), Richard Brunyee (Keys and Synth), Joao Luis Lanca Henriques (Guitar & Bass) and Breda Weise (Drums). The music in amazing, pure blissful genius.

It takes everything beautiful you have ever seen (ecstatic and heart-breaking alike), every new adventure you have experienced and brings them back to you on overwhelming waves of notes and chords, plucking memories and emotions from your heart and the open hearts of those around you.

Until their album is available, climb aboard here : http://soundcloud.com/wesetsail

Rocking the Daisies 2013 | Cloof Wine Estate, Darling, South Africa | October 2013

The Travelling Goldfish has returned from the hustle bustle and energetic craziness that is Rocking the Daisies and is, once again, settling back into to life in the Bowl.

The weekend was a riot of colourful people, fantastic music and incredible scenery, not to mention time in the sun (although wrapped up warmly) with good friends!

Did we meet up during our travels that weekend? If so maybe you’re one of the gorgeous people below who took a moment to pose…
