As the Zombie Walk’s Facebook page proclaims : “ As
Halloween grows nearer, the smell of rotting flesh and fear fills the air. The
dead grow restless and the warmth of summer approaches, we all know it's time
for Cape Town's 4th Annual Zombie Walk.”
The walk takes place each year in Cape Town (usually
followed by a themed after party) in order to raise money for the Lucky Lucy
Foundation.
This year the recently risen undead walked from Thibault
Square to Company Gardens through St. George’s Mall.
The Travelling Goldfish found itself potential prey for the
zombie herd (is there a collective noun for zombies? Possibly a shamble/a
lurch/an apocalypse) and some of the scariest blood-syrup faced children it has
ever encountered.
If you are around on 01 November 2014 why not consider
joining the Zombie Walk – not only can you donate towards a really great cause
but you also get all the fun of experimenting with strange coloured stage
make-up, congealed blood and your best Walking Dead impression.
